Art Installation at the Italian Ambassador’s Residence, London
Seido Art Services x Nick Vinson
Seido Art Services was proud to provide specialist art installation services for the newly redesigned Italian Ambassador’s Residence in London, a prestigious project led by designer Nick Vinson within a Grade II-listed building dating back to 1868.
Spanning the second and third floors of this historic residence, the refurbishment sought to balance tradition with contemporary Italian excellence. Our role was to ensure that the exceptional artworks selected for this space were installed with the precision, sensitivity, and technical expertise that such a setting demands.
Supporting a Vision of Italian Excellence
Nick Vinson’s concept for the residence was to create a refined showcase of Made in Italy, combining over 50 Italian brands with restored antiques from the embassy’s own collection. The interiors seamlessly unite contemporary design with historic character, and this dialogue extended directly to the art.
Working closely with Nick and his curatorial team, Seido Art Services was entrusted with the handling and installation of an important collection of paintings, sculptures, and photographic works by leading Italian artists including Agostino Bonalumi, Andrea Cascella, Mimmo Jodice, Gabriele Basilico, and Massimo Listri.
Each piece was carefully positioned to enhance the architectural rhythm of the rooms, the colour palette, and the narrative of the residence itself.
Precision in a Historic Setting
Installing art within a Grade II-listed building requires far more than technical skill alone. It demands deep respect for the architecture, finishes, and historical integrity of the space.
Our team carried out all installations with:
Non-invasive fixing methods suitable for listed interiors
Exact alignment and spacing, responding to both classical proportions and contemporary design
Discreet integration with lighting schemes, including works illuminated by Flos
Full protection of surfaces, textiles, and restored features
Nick Vinson relied on our meticulous approach to ensure that every artwork enhanced the space without overpowering it, allowing the interiors and the art to coexist in perfect balance.
Enhancing the Atmosphere Through Art
The artworks were selected to respond both aesthetically and conceptually to each room, with several references to Italian cultural heritage and the ambassador’s Neapolitan roots. Our installations ensured that:
Photography created depth and rhythm across corridors and reception spaces
Sculptures were placed to activate sightlines and architectural transitions
Paintings engaged harmoniously with the rich colour palette of reds, blues, yellows and greens
Each piece contributed to the overall sense of welcome and cultural identity
As Ambassador Lambertini noted, the artworks play a central role in creating “a welcoming and evocative atmosphere”, something we are proud to have helped bring to life through careful execution.
A Trusted Partner for Designers and Institutions
Projects of this calibre depend on close collaboration and trust. Throughout the process, Seido Art Services worked in constant dialogue with Nick Vinson and the wider project team, adapting to evolving layouts, lighting decisions, and final spatial refinements.
Delivering Excellence Through Detail
From the smallest photographic print to the most prominent sculptural work, every detail was treated with the same level of care. In a residence where restored acorn-shaped hinges, bespoke textiles, and hand-crafted details define the atmosphere, it was essential that the art installation matched this level of refinement.
The result is a series of spaces where art, architecture, and design speak fluently to one another, a testament to what is possible when expert installation supports visionary design.
