Seido Art Services was appointed to collect, deliver and install 100 framed photographs at the London offices of The New York Times, completing the installation in a single day alongside the client’s design team.
Installing artwork within a major corporate environment requires considerably more than simply hanging pictures on a wall. A coordinated art installation from collection to completion
The project began with the collection of 100 framed photographs from Frame London.
With a large quantity of framed works to move, careful handling and transport were essential from the outset. The artworks needed to arrive at the New York Times offices ready for installation, with the collection and delivery coordinated around the requirements of the installation programme.
Upon arrival, our team met the New York Times design team on site. The design team received the delivery and worked with us throughout the installation to confirm the intended placement of the artworks and provide instructions based on their pre-prepared elevations.
This collaborative approach allowed the physical installation to follow the design intent accurately while giving the installation team the flexibility to work efficiently across the building.
Installing 100 photographs in a single day
The installation was completed by a team of three Seido Art Services installers in one day.
Working to a tight installation deadline, the team moved systematically through the offices, installing artwork across a variety of environments including meeting rooms, seating areas, corridors and other shared spaces.
A corporate workplace presents a different set of challenges from an empty gallery or residential property. Installers need to work around furniture, architectural features, circulation routes and other operational considerations, while maintaining accuracy and minimising disruption to the client.

Precision laser-aligned picture hanging
A significant part of the installation involved creating precisely aligned groups of photographs.

For the New York Times project, Seido used laser alignment techniques to establish accurate horizontal and vertical reference points for the artwork. This allowed the photographs to be installed as coherent groups, maintaining the intended relationship between individual frames across the walls.

Alongside the grid installations, the project also included the installation of larger-format photographic works within boardroom spaces.
Large artworks require a different approach to smaller framed pieces. Handling, positioning and final alignment all become more demanding as the dimensions and weight of an artwork increase.
Our installation team assessed each location and worked under the direction of the New York Times design team to position the larger photographs in accordance with the prepared elevations.
The combination of large-format works and more numerous grid installations meant the project required both careful handling and a highly organised installation process.
